impossible to sharpen
1this was easy to apply with a good result. However, once it needed sharpening it proved to be impossible. The wood is very hard and the liner soft so the point kept breaking off. I tried putting it in the freezer and three different sharpeners but it is now three quarters the size and still not usable. Has anyone any ideas before I throw it away? very disappointed as I liked it before this happened

Oh dear No. 7 what have you done!
1The reasons I have always bought this pencil are - 1. The staying power 2. The colour 3. The precision 4. Little sponge tip attached to the pencil When the Boots assistant informed me that the product had changed and was now softer, I was sceptical. For me, the product was spot on as it was and softer to me means less staying power. However, I thought I would give it a go - unfortunately, this pencil does not work for me at all now. This product does not resemble the previous one and is now more of a khol/kajal pencil. 1. The consistency is different - has little staying power 2. The colour Brown now appears darker, more of a black, possibly due to it being more gel like. 3. The precision is also not as good because it is softer. 4. Lastly the lovely useful little sponge has gone. I am not sure if the other reviews are about the new or the old product. Please, please bring back the old product even if you have to call it something else. I have already purchased other pencils but they do not match the quality of this pencil (in it's old form) and I will carry on using my little stub in the vain hope that there are other negative reviews and that maybe you will take notice and bring back the Stay Perfect, Amazing Eyes Pencil that for me completely lived up to it's name.

Best eye pencil and easier to apply than liquid eye lineer
5This is an amazing eye pencil. To me it is a mix of a more traditional eye pencil and a liquid eye liner. However, if lasts much longer than a pencil but as a pencil is easier to apply than a liquid eyeliner. I have used both extensively over the years as I have very pale lashes and even when they are tinted eye liner is a must for me. This pencil claims to last about 12 hours and I agree with this claim. Recently I went to a spa day with girlfriends and had forgotten not to put eyeliner on in the morning. Even after steam rooms and saunas it had stayed put and only very lightly smudged. It has a good pigment as well as lasting a long time (I don't have overly oily skin so it may not last as long on some people). I am so impressed I will be buying my own when it becomes a stub and have recommended it to friends (the only down side is it can be a little tricky to sharpen at times but that may be down to my sharpener which I need to replace).

Won't work
3I love this product, goes on easily, doesn't smudge, stays on all day, BUT as another reviewer commented, the mechanism at the bottom of the pencil doesn't work, this is the third one I have had ( two replacements ), so once the tip has worn down, it only lasts about 2 weeks ! I am going to take this one back, but if the replacement doesn't work, I will have to buy another brand.

use to be amazing before they changed it
1This was my go to eye loner for the past 6 years, i always line my upper lash line and go through the whole day without it smudging! i recently came back from my honey moon to find No7 have changed the product, not only does it look different but its changed too! i gave it the tested this out and within hours it smudged, even my husband and mum noticed! the eye liner is much more softer in texture now, i guess it might be good if your creating a smokey look but as a daily eye liner its not very good. ive been hunting all the boots stores for the old eyeliners but have yet to find any, however i have managed to find some online which ive purchased to stock up on as i can no longer purchase it. really upset about this! tried to locate contact details to write to No7 but unable to find any. =(

Good liner, but no better than other less expensive versions
3I wear black eyeliner every day so have tried quite a few of them! I usually swear by liquid so I was interested to see if this pencil would convert me, it didn't. Although its a soft liner which applies easily, and did last most of the day (although it did fade in the corners of my eyes) I didn't think it was any better than other brands which are as much as half the price of this.

Easy to use, but didn't last all day
4This was really easy to apply, sharp lines but easy to smudge. The colour is really intense black. It lasted from morning until dinner, then needed touching up.

not that amazing
3i was quite disappointed with this eye pencil as it didn't stay on like it was supposed to. glides on easily but for me it didn't last so i wouldn't buy it again.

5This is a really good eyeliner as must for your makeup bag. It is easy to apply and glides on effortlessly. I found some eyeliner s make my eyes react to them but I had no issues with this one, it lasts well too and doesn't take forever to remove. All in all a really good eyeliner and value for money.

Perfect eyeliner, long lasting and good for sensitive eyes
5Been using pencil eyeliner for many years now and, trust me, 15 year old goth me would have gone crazy for this. It's easily smudged for a smokey effect, great for my overly sensitive eyes, the colour is very bold (I got this in a staple black) and very long lasting (in my experience anyway) Overall, a great eye pencil and very impressed, especially for the cheap price!
