I didn't try the previous version of this body butter so can't comment on the smell change but I think this new version is lovely. The smell is light and fresh, almost lemon like and the butter is very rich and moisturising, only thing that puts me offis the price, I think it's a bit too expensive to make this a regular purchase in comparison to other luxury bathing brands.

I have fairly dry, sensetive skin and the list of natural oils and 48 hr hydration seemed ideal. The butter itself is very thick, sits on your skin and when absorbed leaves your skin feeling rubbery rather then soft and supple. The second issue is the smell, it smells medicated, like something a doctor would perscribe, not really making you feel pampered or indulgent . Finally the following day my skin was dry and itchy, so much for 48 hrs of hydration.

I have to disagree with some of the ore he reviews. I use this after the matching scrub. Applying it is easy and it absorbs quickly. I like the smell, it has a lovely fragrance and it lasts days on my skin. It looses a star for the packaging - it could be more luxurious, it seems to look like a bog standard cream. I to couldn't agree less with the negative reviews. I thought I would give no7 body butter another go after the no7 advisor told me that it was a new formular that was even more nourishing and the advisor was spot on! This butter is a LOT thicker than the old formula and a little goes a long way whereas the old formula didn't for me but then I do have rather dry skin .

I am hooked on this body butter from the first use. The packaging is lovely and contemporary so looks great on the dresser. It's a huge tub with a generous amount so it will last ages, epecially as it spreads easily. I love the subtle sweet smell. It doesn't sit on the skin like some body butters, it really sinks in and rids skin of dryness. I love it, it's a great product!

I couldn't disagree more with the two previous reviewers. The packaging is fresh and contemporary and the smell is relaxing and fabulous. The consistency is just right - and leaves your skin feeling soft for hours.

I was looking forward to buying my body butter, but was disappointed to see the packaging had changed. Unfortunately that's not all that's changed - the smell and texture of the product is pretty horrible. I loved the consistency and smell of the previous butter. However, I must say my skin is softer and feels good but with a less than pleasant smell. If No 7 can get the smell right, I may come to terms with consistency and continue to use this product.

I was looking forward to buying a new pot of this body butter, having run out of it. But the new version smells awful, really sickly and nothing like the previous one, which had a feminine, sophisticated scent. The packaging is also far less glamorous. The whole range now lacks the luxuriousness of the previous one. Will not be buying it again :(.
