I think I have found the perfect eye pencil in this one, it is so easy to apply and it's lovely and soft so doesn't drag the skin around the eye area. Also love the great range of colours it is available in, I have the brown one but next time I am in boots I am going to purchase a green one . 10/10

this was easy to apply with a good result. However, once it needed sharpening it proved to be impossible. The wood is very hard and the liner soft so the point kept breaking off. I tried putting it in the freezer and three different sharpeners but it is now three quarters the size and still not usable. Has anyone any ideas before I throw it away? very disappointed as I liked it before this happened

Had this as a freebie in the recent 241 offer, live how it goes on and stays on BUT how on earth do you sharpen it? Come on Boots, something that simple should have been 'road tested' and clearly wasnt. Shame as most of it will go to waste... not ethical either environmentally or financially!

Bough three of these as there were on three for two offer, have used these previously and usually no problem with them, however when I tried the tester in the shop the liner seemed very soft but when tried on my hand did break very easily, put this down to perhaps rough treatment when handled when it was a tester and bought three colours green, purple and blue, the colours were exactly what I was looking for, however when I used them at home, they broke just the same, and I am not heavy handed. Therefore, returned to the shop, there was absolutely no problem with this, as I had kept my receipt and had returned within three days. Managed to get a refund, apparently a few of these pencils had boken the same. Not up to the normal standard, wish they hadn't changed the casing or inside product, shall not buy again, but willl still buy no 7 as the other products are up to a good standard. Why do they need to change formulations that work?

I have used the old version of this for years as it was the best on the market. What has happened?. It drags your eye lid, leaves hardly any liner and the smudge buds at the end snap off. I bought 3 for 2 and 1 was broken before I used it. My daughters and friends feel the same. Why Boots have changed an item which must have been a best seller I cannot imagine. I am now looking for an alternative as I will never buy this again. I am going to check if there are any old stocks of my favourite out there before I do. I feel very let down with the guys who tested this new product

This is a horrible product, it looks good, but it is so hard to apply, you can try and try but nothing happens, real waste of money. Bought 3 for 2, waste of money.

The most expensive eyeliner I've ever bought but I thought it was worth it as it goes on so smoothly and gives such a well-defined, long-lasting line - UNTIL.., the little tip I was using wore down. I thought that I should twist the end so it would spiral up as it looks like the eyeliner is encased in plastic instead of wood - turns out I was wrong on that score, twisting the end did absolutely nothing. So maybe it really was some kind of wood that I should sharpen - no, I've a house full of sharpeners here and not one of them works on this pencil. So, it seems the pencil is only good for less than a dozen uses, after which you just throw it away. What a waste!

I have been a big fan of No7 products for many years. I have been buying the Amazing Eyes pencils for years in Brown and Camouflage. The Brown was easy and quick to apply, a fantastic stony greyish brown (not too red) and stayed on, the best eyeliner I ever used, my absolute staple and favourite. HOW did this ghastly new formulation get through even the most preliminary testing? It is hard and 'draggy' and basically doesnt leave any colour on the lid - I have tried super-sharpening it, rubbing it on tissue and running it under warm water. It's astonishingly bad and deserves minus stars as it is not fit for purpose. PLEASE FIX IT. Oh, and please do not change the formulation of the beautiful Camouflage pencil unless you want to make me cry (again).

I have been using the No 7 Amazing Eyes Pencil in brown every day for the past few years. I used to love it and wouldn't consider another pencil as it glided on so smoothly. Unfortunately I have just had to return my most recent purchase as the formula has totally changed. It wouldn't glide on, it barely left a trace of colour, and felt like it was scratching my eyelid as I applied it. I tried warming it against my hand to little effect, and then sharpened it only to find the lead broke three times. I ended up with a pencil half the size and it still didn't work. I'd bought the pencil on buy-one-get-one-half-price and took both back today. The lady on the No7 stand was very helpful and gave me store credit to the full amount of both pencils. She agreed that the formula had changed for the worse and advised me to write to head office to encourage the manufacturers to take on board my feedback. Please No7, take note of the poor feedback for this new formula and bring back the old one! I've switched to another brand but would happily come back if the old formula was reintroduced.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. This used to be the best eyeliner I have ever used and I swore by it..no 7 recently altered their packaging and also it seems the formulation of this eyeliner such that it is now awful! It's so friable (both the liner and the wood) that when you sharpen the pencil it simply crumbles and no fine tip can be achieved. The slightest pressure on your lid makes the whole thing break up and leave a mess on your lids. In one week of having to sharpen the pencil everytime you use it, I've finished a pencil that used to last me a month. BOOTS PLEASE CHANGE IT BACK TO THE ORIGINAL FORMULATION which was wonderful!
