The original Post Shave Recovery Balm was a stellar product (especially when bought 3 for 2 or with a £5 voucher). The No.7 range, however, is in the process of re-branding, but be aware that the changes are more than skin deep (literally!). This is not the same product that it replaced. This has been totally re-formulated, and (for me) ruined. Gone is the SPF15 of the original, and gone are the qualities of the original as an after shave balm. This looks, feels and smells like something from Nivea (and performs as badly). If you were a fan of the old version then please don't pay full price to try this, you may well be disappointed.

The review from AdamkHz is spot on. The old product was the best shaving balm I have ever used, but Boots have used the rebranding as an opportunity to sneakily change the recipe and now it's useless and watery. I took it back for a refund and was told that the SPF15 had been removed as they were getting complaints of it causing allergic reactions. It still said SPF15 on the shelf edge label though. Very naughty Boots.

The old balm was excellent. Used it for years. Went to buy a replacement tube, found the product had been changed. No SPF. Not happy!!! Now looking for another brand that does the same job as the old product.

I have been round the branded houses when it comes to male grooming products and have finally settled on Boots own No 7 for Men. They are at least on level pegging for quality and results and invariably better - they are also around 1/3 the price of the major brands. This is an excellent little product and especially for the price. It is slighttly heavier thsan some of the major brands but for me it has been far more effective and works very well under the range of No. 7 moisturisers.

This is a winner! I too had a GBP5 off voucher and thought I would give this product a try. It is absorbed easily, deals with any post-shave redness and provides long-lasting hydration for my face. I'll definitely buy it again

My neck is often red and irritated after shaving. I used this balm immediately after shaving and it certainly helped calm my skin. It did not sting and reduced irritation. A very good product to use after shaving.
