Sneaky rebranding

A sneaky little bit of rebranding and repackaging that has left shoppers like me out of pocket: A short while ago, the No7 ' Perfect Light Loose Powder' was withdrawn, and rebranded as 'No 7 Flawless Finishing Loose Powder'. The product seems exactly the same. Indeed, Boots assures customers online, 'Rest assured, the formulation of this product remains the same, giving you great results'. One thing Boots omits to mention is that the quantity of the product has been reduced from 20g to 13g, with no obvious reduction in price. I only became aware of this when I realised how little time the powder was lasting. I've experienced retailers taking advantage of repackaging to change the quantity of the product - always reducing it of course - but this is the worst example I've seen. The rebranding seems designed to conceal the 35% reduction in the quantity of this product. The fact that the plastic container the 13g of powder is in is almost the same size as the old one that held 20g is not good for the consumer - or for the planet. This has left a very bad taste in my mouth.

Perfect Light Loose Powder 20g

Have bought this product today and I’m really very dissatisfied.  I’ve used this for many years and today I’m not even sure it is the same product.  Firstly the container is extremely small ( previously 20g now 13g).  The container is also very cheap looking.  There is no longer a powder puff inside.  The shade is not the same colour as my last one as they’ve all been changed too.  I will not be buying this product anymore.  Shame as I have used it and loved it for many years.

No7 has changed packaging same price 7grams less

Wow just brought No7 powder which I have been using since I started wearing makeup many years ago and they have changed their packaging which looks cheep and Also 7 grams less for the same price. I’m changing my powder to a different brand which is translucent 85grams and just as good as I only use this powder to Matt my face. Definitely disappointed with No7

Excellent loose powder

I was looking for a loose powder that was affordable but still good at the same time and I found it with this. The coverage is light but thats ok as I want it to set my tinted moisturiser/foundation, I brought this in medium but it is slightly darker than the translusant one but the medium shade is still ok for me.Very pleased with this, thanks.

This product covers without clogging .

This loose powder is fine enough to cover well, but doesn't look caked. As I'm a mature lady, I think less is more and this does just that.

Great Powder

This is the first powder I have brought as I noticed this year that my face has been getting a bit shiny. It compliments my No 7 Ingelligent Foundation perfectly & stopped the shine too which is exactly what I wanted it to do. I did want the translucent one but as it wasnt in stock went for the one the next shade darker but its not mega dark & just perfect.

Excellent translucent loose powder

I have been using No 7 loose powder in its various forms for over 10 years. I even had it sent out to me when I lived abroad. I always buy the translucent shade because it does not change the colour of my foundation. I apply it using the puff which comes with the powder, by dipping the puff into the powder then putting it onto the back of my hand to remove excess and then tapping the puff onto my skin over my foundation. I then pick up what is left of the powder on the back of my hand and repeat to cover my whole face and neck, apart from under my eyes where I use a concealer setting powder. I then use a powder brush in downward strokes to remove any excess from my face. I like this powder because it is finely milled and does not make my foundation look orange. It gives a lovely finish and makes my makeup last all day. I noticed a few negative reviews about the box. The box is very large to fit in a makeup bag, too large for the product it contains really, but I do like the sifter tray inside, as if you shake the box some powder will go up through the sifter, so you don't end up spilling the whole lot everywhere. I also like the fact that the puff is supplied. Some higher end powders come with a silly little brush that is no use whatsoever. I will always buy this one!

Good, but annoying container.

This product works well over foundation and feels very light, letting your skin breath. I've bought the product twice now, only because they stopped selling the other no7 mineral powder in my local area, which I personally preffered based on the container... I prefer using a brush, rather than the sponge that comes with it, so I have taken the sponge holder out, to save time screwing the lid on and off. However this is an issue when taking it on holiday, or when it gets flipped over in my makeup draw, as the powder goes all over the place. It sounds like a minor grumble but it really irritates me! Apart from that, I would recommend!

Gives a great finish

Been using this powder for years. Its the best one I can find for keeping my foundation on and shine at bay.

FAB! (When applied correctly)

I have used No7's pressed powder for years and decided to try the loose powder after reading an article on loose powders (and how to correctly apply it) on the Guardian 'G' newspaper online by Sali Hughes recommending No7s Loose powder. I used a ÂŁ5 No7 voucher but would happily pay full price! I have a pale english rose complexion so the 'translucent' is perfect! it makes my foundation last longer and means I use my No7 pressed powder less throughout the day. It really gives a nice matt and 'radiant' effect, and prevents my face from looking 'chalky' from too much powder around the pores on my cheeks. How to use: 1.Apply foundation and concealer. Wait until you have used the loose powder before putting on any eye or cheek makeup. 2.Unscrew the loose powder lid and sprinkle some into the lid. Using the velour puff with three fingers under the ribbon, press the powder onto the puff. 3. Use your fingers under the ribbon (middle finger pressing the puff out) to 'rock' the powder gently over your face, angling it where needed. I powder my eyelids and under my eyes to make eye makeup last longer. 4. Using a powder brush, sweep over the face to buff the powder in and remove excess. you can put a tiny bit on the brush if needed, but I just use the brush clean. 5. Now Apply your eye makeup (mascara and any eyeshadow, eyeliner) and cheek colour (blusher) 6. Top up/remove shine throughout the day with pressed powder. Enjoy!! :)
